1 cup sugar
4 cups soda water
1 - 750ml bottle of red wine (Beaujolais or Pinot Noir)
4 oz Brandy
2 - 750ml bottles of Prosecco or Cava
1 cup mixed red berries
2 oranges
Block of ice
Dissolve sugar in 1 cup of the soda water, and pour into a punch bowl.
Add red wine and brandy. Stir well. Place the block of ice in the bowl, and pour in the sparkling wines and the rest of the sparkling water.
Garnish the top of the ice block with the berries, or other fruit in season, and float thin slices of the oranges on the punch.
